St Elizabeth’s is in the village of Ashley, near Altrincham. Built in 1880, St Elizabeth's is a beautiful building, full of charm and character. The community centre is an ideal venue for a wide range of events. It regularly hosts concerts, auctions, comedy evenings, wine tasting events and local meetings. In addition to the weekly services, St Elizabeth's is very poular for weddings and christenings.
Ashley village consists of The Greyhound Pub, a nursery school, a cricket club, a train station, housing for the 250 residents, a number of small businesses and of course, St Elizabeth's. We are a close knit community who enjoy a beautiful rural location only a short drive or train journey from Hale Village and Altricham Town Centre. Every May the village organises a Rose Queen Fair in the grounds of the Nursery School. It is a wonderful gathering where the locals pull together to raise gratefully received funds for St Elizabeth's.
There are services each Sunday morning at 11.00am including a Community Service lead by a different member of the community each month, Communion, Matins and a Family Service with Sunday School and activities for children.
At St Elizabeth's, we are very welcoming and we have a friendly, informal and inclusive ethos. On special occasions, e.g. Harvest, Christingle, Christmas, Easter and The Rose Queen Service, the St Elizabeth's is full of residents, families and children from Ashley and surrounding areas - all are welcome to join us and participate in the life of this wonderful rural community centre.
